Hello! I'm Rachel Barber, a dynamic journalist passionate about making inaccessible information accessible. I do so through thorough, engaging, and easy-to-understand reporting.
I currently work as a Money Reporter at USA TODAY in Washington, DC, covering personal finance, the Federal Reserve, and how policy affects Americans' wallets. Previously, I served as a USA TODAY reporting fellow covering the 2024 presidential election and as news editor of The Daily Item, among other publications, for Essex Media Group in Lynn, Massachusetts.

I graduated with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley, where I studied political science and journalism. While at Berkeley, I also worked as a social media manager, ambassador, and student instructor at the university's graduate school of journalism.
I'm always looking for new opportunities — if you'd like to connect, collaborate, or request a copy of my resume, feel free to reach out.
